LAKE HEFNER GOLF CLUBHOUSE
4491 S. Lake Hefner Drive, Oklahoma City

Owner: City of Oklahoma City
Architect: Allford Hall Monaghan Morris
Contractor: Wynn Construction Company
Rendering: Allford Hall Monaghan Morris

Lake Hefner Golf Course is publicly owned by The City of Oklahoma City and widely regarded as one of the premier municipal golf courses in a multistate region.

The multiphase building is a simple diagram. Two strong gabion cage bases manifest from biodiverse landscaping and house a golf shop, retail and Grab & Go. Atop of these bases bridges a Corten jewel box protecting restaurant and bar users from the harsh southern sun while presenting panoramic views over the course and to the lake beyond. The simple material palette honors the surrounding scenic context. Limestone gabion walls mirror the Lake shore riprap and dam, while the oxide metal contrasts against the dynamic Oklahoma sky.

The project strives to be the Clubhouse for all Lake Hefner users and City residents by appealing to more than just golfers – diversifying and increasing revenue streams to guarantee long term success.

PASEO DUPLEX
401 NW 27th Street, Oklahoma City

Owner: Klaas Reimann-Philipp and Erin Yen
Architect: Philipp Architect PLLC and Erin Yen
Contractor: BMS Homes
Photography: Philipp Architect PLLC

The Paseo Duplex provided the opportunity for architects Klaas Reimann-Philipp and Erin Yen to design a home in a manner that reflects their lifestyle, life experiences, and design aesthetics. Erin and Klaas come from diverse backgrounds and the design of the house reflects those different experiences and cultural influences. The house is designed as a duplex (officially a single-family house with attached ADU). This allows the owners to lower their living costs in the near term and provides the option to have a multi-generational house set up in the future, with plenty of privacy for all.

The house is situated in Historic Jefferson Park, and it was their desire for the house to reflect the historical character of the neighborhood while still having a unique identity. The scale of the home is modest from the exterior, however, a basement and built-out attic into a second story makes efficient use of the building envelope to create a spacious interior. Strategic placement of windows allows for an airy and light-filled interior. Use of common but thoughtfully detailed materials provides a sense of warmth throughout the house, including the use of exposed wood joists and quarry tile floors.

The result is a welcoming, flexible office that reflects Miller’s creative approach and the diversity of work produced for its clients.

CIVIC CENTER MUSIC HALL RENOVATION

Architect: FSB Architects + Engineers
Contractor: Flintco Construction
Photography: FSB Architects + Engineers

The Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City underwent a historic renovation, designed by FSB, to enhance both patron experience and operational efficiency while preserving its architectural heritage.

Key upgrades include a more open main entry, creating a welcoming arrival experience, and movable point-of-sale booths for flexible concessions and merchandise sales. A new kitchen improves catering capabilities, while expanded backstage space benefits Little Theatre performers.

To enhance accessibility and security, a new publicly accessible, secure box office was introduced. Additionally, a north-side vestibule now provides a dedicated entrance for VIPs and Little Theatre guests, improving traffic flow and exclusivity.

FSB’s thoughtful design seamlessly blends modern enhancements with the Civic Center’s historic charm, ensuring it remains a premier performing arts venue in Oklahoma City.
