SEPTEMBER AIA LUNCHEON
Join us on Thursday, September 17th at 11:30 a.m. for the AIA Central Oklahoma September Luncheon Program. Our guest speaker will be Michael Carrier with the Oklahoma Convention & Visitors Bureau. Join Mr. Carrier to learn more about the exciting new convention center and its impact on tourism in Oklahoma City.
Mike Carrier joined the Oklahoma City Convention and Visitors Bureau in July 2007 as its President. He is a native of Bristol, Tennessee and holds both a Bachelors degree in Accounting and a Masters in Education from East Tennessee State University.
He has been active in the travel and tourism industry for over 35 years, working in meeting planning, hotel sales, facilities management and has served as President of Convention and Visitors Bureaus in Greenville and Columbia South Carolina and Knoxville Tennessee. Prior to his move to Oklahoma City, he served as the General Manager of the Shreveport Convention Center.
Carrier has been actively involved in numerous industry associations including serving as President of the Carolinas Chapter of Meeting Professionals International and 3 years on the Board of Directors of the Destination Marketing Association International. He currently serves as a member of the Convention Center Subcommittee of the MAPS3 Program in Oklahoma City.
