Village on Walnut Tour
A Public Private Partnership Exemplifying the AIA Framework for Design Excellence
The AIACOC Committee on the Environment and Emerging Architects Committee are pleased to offer a tour that showcases many principles of AIA’s Framework for Design Excellence. The Village on Walnut, a new housing development in NE Oklahoma City illustrates smart land use, practical sustainability and energy efficiency, historic preservation and more, all while benefiting the community with dignified, affordable housing.
You will hear from tour guides who are intimately involved with the project, including Kenneth Fitzsimmons, AIA of Task Design; Matthew Pearce, PhD of Oklahoma History Center, and Sheryl Lovelady of Positively Paseo. The tour will include a walk of the site, viewing houses under construction, touring a completed house and touring the historic McClean Mansion.
Meet at the pavilion to begin the tour and enjoy coffee and donuts.
Architects will earn 1 HSW credit. Space is limited to register early!
